Since 2022, we have cleaned up 450 bags of trash from parks, lakes and community areas. In total, they weighed 10,875 pounds of trash!
Our volunteers have volunteered for a total of 920 hours with OneShadeGreener. This is equivalent to 57, 360 minutes!
Since starting our food sustainability mission in 2023, we have helped plant 8 beds of vegetable gardens and herb gardens at local elementary schools.
The produce collected was packaged and handed to the parents of the children at the elementary school.
At OneShadeGreener, our commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable world is reflected in our community-centered, action-oriented approach. As a non-profit environmental organization, we believe that every individual has the power to make a positive impact on the planet and in their community. We focus on three key pillars: Community Clean-Ups, Simple Sustainability Living, and Food Sustainability Education.
Local Clean-Up Events: We organize frequent clean-ups of community parks, historical sites, and other public spaces. Through collective action, we remove litter, restore natural habitats, and promote responsible waste disposal, making a tangible difference in the health and beauty of our surroundings.
Simple Sustainability Living: Our Sustainability Challenges inspire and guide individuals on their journey to adopt more eco-friendly and cost-friendly lifestyles. These challenges present practical and achievable actions that can be integrated into anyone's daily routines.
Food Sustainability Education: We have embarked on an exciting new initiative to educate elementary school students about food sustainability. By establishing vegetable gardens within school premises, we not only encourage the production of fresh and nutritious food but also provide a valuable opportunity for students to learn about sustainable agriculture and the importance of food saving practices, such as composting.
